32 States Down and Counting

Home was much more than four brick walls for me growing up: I spent months at a time living with my three siblings and parents in a motor home as we traveled the United States for my father’s job. I remember watching the landscape change out of the windows of our home-on-wheels, and stepping out of our front door someplace different every few days. From Louisiana to Nebraska, I visited over half of the states in the US at least once before I was 12 years old. With such prolonged exposure to travel and the nomadic habits of my own family at such a young age, it is no surprise that I sometimes grow restless in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I could never give up my cozy home in Tulsa: my husband, our dogs Maggie and Winnie, and my much-loved back porch holds a cherished piece of my heart. But the familiarity of home can grow stale, and inevitably I find myself planning some adventure far from home to satiate my thirst for something more than the city which grew me.

Where has this tendency to wander taken me?

In 2025 and 2026, I visited Glacier National Park, Grand Teton National Park (twice), Rocky Mountain National Park (twice), Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and Yellowstone National Park (three times), as well as a week in Alaska visiting Juneau, Seward, Anchorage, Skagway, and Hoonah. Additionally, my skiing habit has taken me to numerous ski resorts in Colorado and New Mexico, like Red River, Keystone, and Purgatory resorts.

My photography has me wandering from home as well. My 2027 Wedding Calendar is already shaping up to be one for the books: Vermont, Florida, Washington, Tennessee, and Texas to name a few places that my camera may take me in the coming year.

My love for the big-wide-world has integrated itself into the very core of my personal and professional life. This blog serves as your glimpse into the many adventures I find myself embarking upon, whether to photograph a wedding or a wonder of this beautiful place we call home.
